1. Scope of application

These terms apply to custom projects covering, among other things, 3D scanning, CAD modelling, styling design, the making of masters, moulds, tooling, prototypes, one-off parts, widebody kits or other solutions developed for a specific customer.

2. Project stages

1. Initial conversation and definition of the goals – vehicle model, scope, style, aerodynamic function, budget.
2. 3D scan of the vehicle or acquisition of reference geometry.
3. CAD design and approval of the visualisations by the Customer.
4. Making of the master and the moulds.
5. Production of the parts, finishing.
6. Trial fitting, corrections, acceptance.

3. Arrangements requiring written confirmation

• the material scope and the list of parts;
• the schedule and stage deadlines;
• the price, the payment schedule and the amount of the advance;
• the number of design iterations included in the price;
• the finish and the type of fibre;
• the terms of trial fitting and acceptance;
• the rights to the design, the moulds and the documentation;
• the right to publish materials from the build.

4. Advances and payments

Custom projects start once the advance has been paid. The advance covers the cost of design work and tooling preparation, which is incurred regardless of the further stages. The extent to which the advance is refunded on cancellation is set out in the individual contract.

5. Nature of a one-off product

1of1 Products are made to the Customer’s specification and are non-prefabricated goods within the meaning of the provisions on the right to withdraw from a distance contract. This means that the right of withdrawal may not apply – this information is given before the order is placed.

6. Intellectual property rights

Unless the contract provides otherwise, the rights to the design, CAD models, moulds and tooling remain with HELK DESIGN. The Customer receives the physical product and the right to use it. A transfer of rights or exclusivity for a given model requires a separate agreement and quote.

7. Tolerances and nature of the workmanship

Hand-made parts may differ in the weave pattern, the depth of the paint and minor dimensional deviations. Differences within the accepted tolerances do not constitute a defect.
